Veterans' space -

Veterans' space is a place in the central part of Ivano-Frankivsk, equipped with a lift for people with disabilities, where veterans, their family members, and family members of fallen Defenders of Ukraine come to:

  • communication with each other;
  • receiving psychological, psychiatric, legal assistance, as well as assistance in finding a job;
  • taking part in social and psychological rehabilitation activities, cultural, educational, artistic, self-help groups.

Mission:

The Veterans' Space is a place friendly to combatants and their families as an opportunity to hear and evaluate requests about and provide high-quality sensitive service.

In addition, the space is also a platform for the consolidation of public and charitable organizations, municipal and state institutions, media, socially responsible business for the sake of high-quality synergy and creation of a homogeneous inclusive society.

The reasons for the existence of the problem of reintegration of veterans into social life are as follows:

  • difficulty finding a common language with those who have no experience of participating in hostilities including family members,
  • the presence of PTSD,
  • formation of dependencies,
  • loss of a job and difficulty finding a new one (especially after injuries),
  • lack of a single standard for the reintegration of veterans into society at the state level.

From inception in February, 2024 until today:


62 events were held in Veteran Space
  • Active employment service programs for Veterans and their families - 2
  • Meetings of parents of fallen Defenders with a priest - 3
  • Dance meetings for defenders' wives - 4
  • Educational events - 7
  • Regular meetings of representatives of the United Defenders initiative - 14
  • Psychological activities (meetings of self-help groups, workshops for the correction of the emotional state, transformational games, lectures, art therapy classes) - 32
More than 550 people attended events including individual psychological consultations:
  • Defenders undergoing rehabilitation at the First Volunteer Surgical Hospital;
  • Veterans of the Ukrainian-Russian war;
  • Wives of active military personnel, veterans, dead and missing Defenders;
  • Children of active military personnel and fallen Defenders;
  • Parents of fallen Defenders;
  • Representatives of the United Defenders initiative;
  • Journalists of local media
  • Representatives of local authorities - the mayor's office and the department of social policy.




Team


Social Significant:
Veterans return to a full life, integrate into the family and society and have a positive life forecast. Family members of veterans are also integrated into society and make plans for the future while maintaining healthy relationships.


Expected results per month:
  • The following is held monthly in the Veteran's Space:
  • 15 events held by partner NGOs.
  • 8 events initiated by the veteran space inside or outside the hub.
  • at least 2 events on the discussion of veteran policy with representatives of communities of the Ivano-Frankivsk region (coverage of all communities of the region during the implementation of the project);
  • 20 veterans and their family members have access to free psychological, legal, medical (in particular narcologist and psychiatrist) assistance, assistance in retraining and job search, participation in social integration activities to create the foundations of an optimistic life scenario.
  • 1 publication in the media about inclusiveness.
  • Participation of hub representatives in meetings, events at the municipal or all-Ukrainian level regarding inclusiveness, the formation of veteran policy etc.
  • Attracting new partners - 1.
  • The number of people present at the events is 500.
