About The First Voluntary Hospital
“Brass” — The First Voluntary Hospital in Ukraine was established in Ivano-Frankivsk in the first days of the Russian-Ukrainian war.
The goal of the initiative is to provide free assistance to soldiers and internally displaced persons who are wounded, injured, and in need of medical assistance.
According to statistics, every third wound during hostilities is mine-explosive injuries, gunshot and shrapnel injuries of limbs.
In connection with the high need for treating atypical injuries, orthopedic traumatology has become a vital specialty of the medical institution.

“Brass” — The First Voluntary Hospital in Ukraine has united the majority of doctors, volunteers, and organizations from Ukraine and around Europe.
Thanks to the high professional level of the entire team, “Brass” became a nominee of the prestigious European Health Leadership Awards 2022 (Austria).

The symbol of the hospital is an ant.
These insects are born “professional” surgeons who are able to treat the feet of other “fellows” who have suffered injuries after being attacked by their enemy termites. Also, ants pull out the wounded from the “battlefield”.
